HEARTBREAK ON OPENING DAY OF 2012 PLAYOFFS!

Opening day of the 2012 NBA Playoffs was not only an exciting day full of great match-ups but was also a heartbreaking, season-ending day for 2 players.

Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls went crashing through the lane, went up and twisted his knee on the way up. Rose immediately hit the floor and the pain was obvious for all watching. Rose was helped off the court and it was soon announced Rose would be missing the rest of the season and had indeed torn his ACL.

The other season-ending injury was in the Knicks/Miami match-up. Iman Schumpert was bringing the ball up the court and went to crossover the ball and like Rose his knee kinked and Schumpert hit the floor. Again similar to Rose he was helped off the court and it was soon announced it had torn his ACL in his left knee and would also miss the rest of the season.

As sad as the news is for ‘ball fans, in that we miss out seeing the reigning MVP Rose, and the promising talent of Rookie Schumpert. There will secretly be some NBA fans take will take some delight in hearing the news that Rose will miss the rest of the season. Boston Celtics fans must have been secretly worrying about potentially beating Atlanta and then the probable meeting of Chicago in the next round, but now must be quietly confident that they could now beat the Rose-less Bulls.
