In news this morning Dallas Mavericks veteran guard Jason Terry has signed a 3-year, $15M deal with the Boston Celtics. The Celtics used a $5M trade exception to land Terry in a deal that only further strengthens Boston’s perimeter.
This morning Yahoo! Sports reported:
“The Boston Celtics have reached an agreement with Dallas Mavericks free-agent guard Jason Terry on a three-year contract. The Celtics will use their $5 million mid-level exception to sign Terry. The total value of the contract will be $15.6 million.”
Terry won a championship with the Dallas Mavs in 2010/11 and averaged over 15PPG last season, whilst shooting over 37% From 3 point range. Whilst Boston hope to re-sign Ray Allen, Terry’s presence on the perimeter will be a huge boost for Boston even if Allen decides to move on.
