2013 DRAFT WATCH – ROUND 2

Welcome back readers,

Here we have another round of breaking down the games of potential Draft prospects and let you know what they will be bringing to the table if they get the chance to shine in the big League.

If you missed round 1?….. Don’t sweat, you can find it right here.

First up..

Ben McLemore – Shooting Guard

@Humb1e_Hungry23

BEN-MCLEMORE200

This slick shooting guard who currently plays his ball out of Kansas, has been the talk of many NBA scouts. An Ultra smooth shooter who has been drawing comparisons to Ray Allen, not only has a precise shoot but is very athletic too. Known as a great team player who despite his shooting ability will not ball hog and picks up his fair share of assists. Expect McLemore to go Top 5.

Strengths: Natural scorer with a perfect formed shot. High basketball I.Q. Highly athletic. Very coachable

Weaknesses: Ball handling skills could improve. Learn to be slightly more aggressive. Shot selection could use some work.

Shabazz Muhammad – Shooting Guard

This athletic guard currently playing his ball out of UCLA has been causing some excitement amongst the league and hoop fans in general. A lethal scorer, who plays the game smartly and aggressively. Muhammad has the make-up and smarts to make an impact on arrival into the league. Expect to be picked late top 10.

Strengths: Great scorer. NBA ready body. Great basketball I.Q. Good on the offensive boards.

Weaknesses: Tendency to be too left hand focused. Relies a little on his strength. Could work on creating chances for teammates.

Otto Porter – Small Forward

@o_porter22

1224565-L

This talented forward who plays his ball out of Georgetown is a real prospect. In possession of a well rounded game despite his age. A good sized forward at 6’8 and extremely athletic. Plays the game smartly, and also uniquely. Very effective with his short range jumper, and is deadly around the rim.  Expect to be picked top 5.

Strengths: Good rebounder. Huge wingspan of 7’1. Athletic. Effective short-range jumper. Good passer of the ball.

Weaknesses: Still quite raw, game could do with a little rounding up. Struggles with creating own shots. Has a tendency to float a little on the offensive end.

There we have it for another week of Draft Watch.

If there are any prospects you would like us to watch, please send us a comment and let us know.

    Shabazz Muhammad’s my pick to go number 1 in the draft… I may be a UCLA homer, but there just isn’t any more complete player in college hoops. He’s the real deal.
